In innocent times, we’d lay down at a birch tree’s roots to inch our gaze up its tall white trunk, tracing its dark etchings through the bark until the sunlight spotting its tallest leaves sent us sleeping. The blanched forests were our playground—our maypoles and springboards, our shelter from the heat. In the cold, we’d watch their stick figures and brightly-decorated boughs dance in watercolor upon the lake, striping our sepia dreams.
Memories like these are what drew Nancy Nelson Jewelry to design our first Birch Cuff: it’s a slice of nostalgia in the gentle clutch of a childhood friend.
